Refund Policy

(Adult Students / Clients - Age: 18+)
Effective date: 19 January 2026
Jurisdiction: England and Wales

1) Definitions
“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”: Chiswick Education Institute Ltd is a company registered in England, [company number], registered office at [address].
“Student”, “client”, “you”, “your”: an individual aged 18 or over enrolled on a course at the Company.
“Course”: any language programme, lesson, tutoring, assessment, or related service delivered by the Company (in person or online).
“Start Date”: the first scheduled day of your Course.
“Contract”: the agreement formed when the Company confirms your place.

 

2) Eligibility and admissions
Our adult courses are for students / clients aged 18+ on the Course Start Date.
Admission is subject to availability, meeting any entry requirements (e.g., placement test), and paying required fees by the stated deadlines.
We may refuse admission or terminate enrolment if: 
(a) information provided is false or incomplete; 
(b) fees are not paid in advance of the Course start date; 
(c) conduct breaches of our policies.

 

3) Enrolment, contract formation & cooling-off period
Your Contract is formed when we issue written Booking Confirmation (via email or letter) following your application and payment of any deposit.
Distance contracts (e.g., online enrolments) may include a 7-day cooling-off period from the day of Contract formation, during which you may cancel for a full refund of Course fees paid, less any proportionate amount for services already delivered at your request during that period.
If the Course begins within the 7-day period and you expressly request an immediate start, you acknowledge that your right to cancel will be reduced to the unused portion and may be lost once the Course is completed.

 

4) Fees, deposits, and payment terms
Fees are listed on our website or in offer letter(s) and are quoted in GBP (£).
Payment is due by the due date on the invoice. We may charge interest on overdue sums at the statutory rate and/or suspend services until paid.
Deposits (if applicable) are non-transferable and may be non-refundable except where your statutory rights apply or as otherwise stated in Section 7 (Cancellations and Refunds).
All bank charges must be paid by the student / client; we must receive the net amount.

 

5) Changes requested by you (i.e. deferrals, transfers)
Deferrals requested at least 14 days before the Start Date may be accommodated subject to availability and an administrative charge of 5% of the total course fee.
Course transfers (e.g., to a different timetable or modality) require our approval and may incur fees or a price difference charge.
We do not permit transfers to third parties.

 

6) Changes by the Company (i.e. timetables, modality, teachers)
We may adjust timetables, class sizes, teachers, or delivery mode (in-person/online/hybrid) for operational or academic reasons. We aim to keep changes reasonable and will notify you as soon as practicable.
If we materially change or cancel a Course before the Start Date, you may accept the change, move to a suitable alternative, or receive a full refund of fees paid for the affected Course.

 

7) Cancellations and refunds

-        If a cancellation or a refund is requested by the student / client:
 

A. Pre-start cancellation: 
≥ 28 days before Start Date: refund of tuition fees paid, less deposit and any non-recoverable costs.
14–27 days: 50% refund of tuition fees paid, less deposit and non-recoverable costs.
< 14 days: no refund, except statutory cooling-off where applicable (see Section 3 in Terms and Conditions Policy).

 

B. After Course start date: 
There will be no refund for attended or missed sessions. Partial refunds may be considered only in exceptional circumstances at our discretion with appropriate evidence provided by the student/ client.

 

C. Visa-related (if applicable):
If you require a visa, it is your responsibility to obtain it. Where a visa is refused, we will refund tuition fees paid less an administrative charge of 20% of the total course fee. and any non-recoverable costs, upon receiving official refusal documentation. No refund if refusal is due to fraud or your breach of immigration rules.

 

If the cancellation is caused by the Company:
If we cancel a Course without offering an acceptable alternative, you will receive a full refund of fees paid for the cancelled Course.
Refunds are paid to the original payer by the original method where possible, within 14–28 days of approval.
